Maslinica

Western tip of Šolta · 35 min from Trogir

A single curved bay, a stone waterfront, seven small islets scattered offshore and a marina that fills with sailing boats by evening. Maslinica is the reason people who came for the Blue Lagoon book a second day.

The village is tiny — a few hundred residents — and almost entirely oriented to the water. Konobas sit directly on the waterfront, which makes it the easiest lunch stop on any of our routes: we tie up, you walk twenty metres.

The islets offshore are the interesting part for swimmers. The channels between them are shallow, sheltered and clear, and you can anchor in the middle of them with the village in view.

Because it faces west, it also has the best light of anywhere we sail. On the afternoon half-day and on full days we time the last stop here on purpose.
